Sri Lanka is one of the ideal destinations in Asia if you are hiking and lover. Beautiful mountains and waterfalls are waiting to be explored. Unusual climate, breathtaking views from the top of the mountains and waterfalls are just a few of the highlights of these tours.

Knuckles mountain

 Knuckles mountain range also known as ‘‘Dumbara Mitiyawatha’’ which means ‘‘The Misty Vally’’ is a beautiful eco-tourism venue situated in the districts of Matale and Kandy. It is also a national heritage and wilderness area. The range takes its name ‘‘knuckles’’ because of the five high

mountain peaks formed in the shape of a clenched fist. There are two main areas of access to this

mountain range. Knuckles gives one of the most breathtaking views in a mountain range and the highest point is covered by thick layers of cloud. Even the easiest parts of this hike through tea plantations is also a sight to remember. This mountain range is a heaven for nature lovers and photographers.

 

 

Adam’s Peak

 Adam’s Peak or ‘‘Sri Paada’’ how it is actually called in Sri Lanka is a conical mountain situated in the southern reaches of the central highlands in the District of Ratnapura and Nuwara Eliya. It is the second highest mountain in Sri Lanka and a large number of locals making the 500

0 stair climb to the peak during the months of December to May because it is an important pilgrimage site for several faiths. Buddhists believe that the Buddha’s footprint rests at the top, if you ask a Christian, it belongs to Eden. If you ask a Hindu, it is most certainly the Shiva’s footprint. Best parts of this climb are the magical sunrise considered as the best in the world by tourists and the breathtaking view from 7,359 ft above. It’s a challenge to climb 5000 stairs but its well worth.

 

 

Belihuloya

 Belihuloya is a small village situated in Rathnapura Dioya meet together creating a natural pool.Trail to Horton Plainstrict. It is one of the richest bio-diversty spots in Sri Lanka as it is linking both the dry and wet zones. This is a perfect destination for photographers and nature lovers. Natural bathing pool in Belihuloya is one of the most beautiful places in Sri Lanka. This is an iconic place where Belihul oya and Galgama s is also one of the beautiful hikes in the country.                                                                                                            This trail can be done in reverse too.

 

 

 

Adara Kanda

 Lover’s Peak or Adara Kanda how it’s actually called in Sri Lanka is a 1500m  tall mountain situated in the Sabaragamuwa province. Lover’s peak is one peak in the Kalupahana mountain range. This is not an easy hike it is so much windy and sunny on top of the peak. But the sight of 7 peaks around this peak is a sight you will not forget. Hiking Adara Kanda is good for beginners and it is one of the perfect mountains to do camping. Trekking through Beautiful trees and large rocks is like heaven for nature lovers. Once you pay a visit there you won’t have the heart to return.

 

Kirigalpoththa

Kirigalpoththa is a beautiful mountain situated in the district of Nuwara Eliya. Kirigalpoththa is famous among tourists because it is the highest accessible peak in Sri Lanka and the hiking trail begins from Horton Plains National park.

The path to the peak of Kirigalpoththa is not so good, heavy winds and mist make it even more adventurous. It  will take around 6-7 hours to return back to the entrance. Kirigalpoiththa is a heaven on earth for Wild life lovers and nature lovers. You would be able to watch leopards in the area if you are lucky enough. Walking through huge trees and rocks makes this hike even more beautiful.

Hike Kirigalpoththa and feel the enviorement. You will never get a feeling like that ever again.
