The 6-day Ancient Ceylon tour package offers you the best days of your life inside the ancient kingdoms in Sri Lanka. You will be taking through the “cultural triangle” of the magical island revealing the most amazing creations of the ancient kings in the Kingdoms of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa. You will explore the world heritage of Sigiriya and Also Dambulla Cave during the tour and taste of amazing wildlife in Minneriya. One of our team member will welcome you to this island. and we begin our tour your first destination is Anuradhapura. This is about 3 and a half hours drive from the airport. Then we check in to the hotel and get a refreshment before starting to visit the Kingdom of Anuradhapura. There are 14 historical places that you can visit in this kingdom
Sri Mahabodhi(The Sacred Tree), Jethawanaramaya , Abhayagiriya , Abhayagiriya Musemum ,Samadhi Buddha Statue , Ruwanwalisaya ( Pagoda ), Brazen Palace , Kuttampokuna(special twin pond) ,Thuparamaya, Isurumuniya Temple, Mirisawatiya Dagoba, Eth Pokuna( Elephant Pond), Moonstone,Royal Palace , Daladamaligawa (first Temple of Tooth).
After breakfast, we’ll take you to another world Heritage Site known as Polonnaruwa.
Polonnaruwa – This UNESCO World Heritage Site complex is a treasure for the history buff, significant Buddhist and Hindu monuments every few meters apart from each other, such as the Gal Vihara, the Polonnaruwa Vatadage, ‘Satmahal Prasada’ – a seven-storey edifice, the Palace of King Parakramabahu, statue of King Parakramabahu and countless others, along the picturesque Parakrama Samudraya(Tank).
In Evening we head to Minneriya National park. This one of the best places to see the wild elephants in Sri Lankan addition you can see large water birds such as lesser adjutant, painted stork, and the spot-billed pelican, little cormorants, Great white pelican, ruddy turnstone, and grey heron.
Minneriya National Park – jeep safari is one of the most popular activity among travellers where they can watch large herds of Sri Lankan elephants gather on the edges of the dry season. The 3-hour jeep safari is a valuable opportunity to observe unique and amazing wildlife in their natural habitats. May to October is the best period to visit Minneriya National Park.
On the 3rd day get ready for another adventure, Climbing Sigiriya rock. This is the most visited historical attraction in Sri Lanka.
Sigiriya Rock – mystery and the most impressive archaeological landmark in Sri Lanka, the fortress complex includes remnants of a ruined palace, surrounded by an extensive network of fortifications, vast gardens, ponds, canals, alleys and fountains.
After Visiting Sigiriya the next attraction will be Dambulla Cave Temple. This is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.
After Visiting the temple, we head back to the Hotel
After breakfast, we proceed to the most ancient and religious city in Sri Lanka which is known as Kandy. The city is the home of the temple of tooth relic. The most sacred place in the Buddhist word in Sri Lanka. And We have one more special thing to testIf you are interested in local spices and how the process goes on, we’ll give you the experience from the begging on your way to Kandy.
Spice Garden – a spice garden, where the scents of cinnamon, pepper, cardamom, nutmeg and mace invade the senses and offer visitors a glimpse of a centuries-old spice production industry that has attracted many European and Asian merchants in the ports of ancient Sri Lanka.
The journey will be continued to the Ancient city and check in to the hotel.
Evening Visits Kandy Cultural show.
Kandy Cultural Show – This cultural program describes various forms of Kandyan dance that once originated in the region but has now spread to different parts of the island. Kandyan dance plays an important role in Sri Lankan culture and is a highly anticipated event during perahera processions. During the show, you will see several dances describing the graceful movements of birds and animals, which go back to the ancient ritual known as Kohomba Kapkariya, as well as energetic acrobatic performances where men perform a series of jumping pirouettes and waterfalls such as the rotating plates and the dramatic “march to fire” that ends the show.
On the 5th day, Our first visit will be Temple of tooth relic (Sri DaladaMaligawa)
Temple of tooth relic – Sri Dalada Maligawa of Kandy, the temple that houses the relic of the sacred tooth of the Buddha, is probably the Buddhist shrine. This is worshipped not only by Buddhists in Sri Lanka but by Buddhists around the world.
And the 2nd visit of the day is Peradeniya Botanical Garden.
Peradeniya Botanical Garden –
Royal botanical garden Peradeniya is the ideal destination for anyone who is looking for a getaway in a garden with 4000 species of plants in Asia. It is It is the largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka. Royal botanical garden Peradeniya is one of the most attractive places in the central province within locals and foreigners because it is adding more color to nature and also because of the historical value it holds. Massive gardens like Royal botanical garden Peradeniya will take more than 2 hours to explore on foot but it’s all worth because of the beauty of nature.
The last day of the tour. After breakfast, we proceed to the airport. But we have one more place to visit. Spend some time with Elephants at Pinnawala Elephant orphanage, you can bath them feed them and play with baby Elephant.
Pinnawala Elephant orphanage – This is a rare opportunity to get up close with such a great amount of elephants. Seeing the bottle feed of baby elephants and watching them do tricks are the highlights of the tour. Riding elephants, taking pictures with them and watching them bath makes this tour unforgettable.
This place is a heaven on earth for photographers and wildlife lovers as these elephants are kept in open. This place is also safe for kids and they fall in love with elephants more than adults.
